Residential Summer Russian Course 19th - 30th July 2010 What We Teach |

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
We teach four levels, according to previous knowledge of the language. Please note that if the level you sign up for proves not to be appropriate for your ability it may easily be changed. Level 1 Beginners starts from learning (or revising) the Russian alphabet and pronunciation. (If you are familiar with the alphabet, you will benefit more if you enrol for Week One). As your skills in reading and writing progress, you will gain a foundation in communicating with Russians. Level 2 Intermediate starts from a basic knowledge of Russian, developing abilities in the language such as writing letters and reading more basic texts with dictionaries. Spoken communication with Russian people will become much easier after completing this level, and you will obtain the necessary background to start a GCSE course. Level 3 High Intermediate is suitable for those taking or thinking of taking A Level, or those whose previous knowledge allows them to communicate with native Russian speakers and who wish to develop their ability further. This is also for those who wish to go to Russia and feel more independent there. Level 4 Advanced is for those already with a command of the language, who wish to supplement and hone their skills to the highest level. Opportunities will be provided for learning and developing translation and interpretation skills. |
